• Online Application: The application process for a Singapore Biometric Passport has been made seamless. You can apply online at go.gov.sg/passport. Alternatively, you can complete and mail the application form to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), ICA Building, 10 Kallang Road, Singapore 208718.

• Lost Passport: In the unfortunate event that you lose your passport, you should report the loss immediately to ICA at go.gov.sg/reportlossppt. If the loss is due to a crime, a police report is required. Lost passports, even if later recovered, cannot be used. A recovered lost passport must be surrendered to the ICA in person within 14 days. Failure to do so is an offense punishable by a fine and/or imprisonment.

• Damaged Passport: If your passport is damaged, report it immediately to ICA at go.gov.sg/damagedpassport. Damaged passports cannot be used.

• Replacement Fee for Lost/Damaged Passport: When applying for a replacement for a lost or damaged passport, a non-refundable fee is payable. The first replacement costs S$50, while subsequent replacements cost S$100, in addition to the regular passport fee.

• Photograph Requirements: Your passport photograph is a crucial component of your application. Ensure that it meets the following criteria:

• The photograph must be in color and sized at 35 mm wide by 45 mm high without a border.
  
• It should be taken within the last 3 months.
  
• The background should be plain white (light grey if your hair is white).
  
• Take the photo with your face in full view, looking directly at the camera, with a neutral facial expression and your mouth closed.
  
• Your face should measure between 25 mm and 35 mm from chin to crown.
  
• Only headgear or head coverings worn for religious or racial reasons are allowed, and they should not be white.
  
• If you wear glasses, ensure that the frames do not cover any part of your eyes. Tinted glasses and sunglasses are not allowed.
  

It's important to meet these requirements as photographs that do not comply can delay your passport application.

• Checking Application Status: After submission, you can check the status of your passport application by logging in to ica.gov.sg. Applications submitted with incomplete details will not be processed.

• Passport Validity: Singapore passports are typically valid for 10 years for citizens aged 16 and above, and 5 years for citizens below 16 years. If you have remaining validity from your previous passport, up to a maximum of 9 months, it can be carried over to your renewed passport.

• Change of Particulars: If you need to change your particulars, such as your name, provide the necessary documents. For applicants below 15 years of age who had their name changed, provide a baptism or religious certificate if applicable, or a deed poll, including the ethnic name. For applicants above 15 years, apply for a new IC reflecting your new particulars before applying for a new passport, and the prevailing passport fee will apply.

• Surname/Family Name: If applicable, underline your surname/family name. In compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization standards, your surname/family name will be reflected in the passport's Machine Readable Zone, using filler characters (<<) before your given name(s).

• Collection of Passport: The processing time for a Singapore Biometric Passport is typically around 1 to 2 weeks from the receipt of your application. However, it may be longer if your photograph does not meet the requirements. You will be notified of the outcome through a notification card or email. Remember that passports not collected within 3 months will be canceled, and no refund of the passport fee will be given.

Both a copy and the original of your current passport. d. Both a copy and the original of your Vietnam Temporary Residence Card or a valid Visa Free Entry Permit.

2. Submission Time: Completed applications and supporting documents can be submitted to the Consulate-General during operating hours from Monday to Friday, 9 am – 11.30 am. No appointment is required.

3. Processing Time: Passport renewal at the Consulate-General typically takes 4 – 6 weeks.

4. Processing Fee: A processing fee of VND1,340,000 should be paid in cash at the point of application.

5. Collection of Passport: You will be notified of the collection date once the passport has been received from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority. Collection of the passport must be done in person.

6. Note to Applicants: Upon collection of the new passport, the old passport will be canceled and returned to you. Keep in mind that the new passport number will differ from the old one. If you have a visa or permit tied to your old passport number, you'll need to transfer it to the new passport at the local immigration office before departing the country.
