Startup India's Marg program invites experts to register and mentor startups throughout the year. Potential mentors must have at least 7 years of experience to be eligible for the program. Q:- What is Cohort Based Program?
Ans:- The Cohort-Based Program (CBP) will be conducted on the mentorship portal in collaboration with partners of the startup ecosystem. Organize cohort-based, limited-duration mentorship programs on partner portals such as industry associations, incubators, accelerators, academia, various startup networks (for unicorns, successful startups, professionals, etc.). CBP can also be organized during marquee events by Startup India, such as Prarambh and SCO Startup Forum.
Q:- Is this a paid mentorship platform?
Ans:- No, the mentorship offers provided on the platform are completely free of cost.
Q:- What is the validity of my registration on this portal?
Ans:- There is no expiry period for mentor membership on this portal. Startups can participate in the program as long as they have a valid DPIIT recognition certificate.
Q:- Am I eligible to be a startup?
Ans:- DPIIT recognized startups from all sectors and all stages of startup lifecycle are eligible to apply for mentorship on the platform throughout the year.
Q:- How to get recognized as Startup by DPIIT?
Ans:- Under the Startup India initiative, eligible companies can get recognized as Startups by the Department of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and can get many benefits by the Government of India. The company which is registered under G.S.R. dated 19 February 2019 by DPIIT. 127(E), can apply for DPIIT recognition on the Startup India Portal.
Q:- How to find a mentor?
Ans:- After registration and publication of your profile, the platform will match mentors and startups using artificial intelligence based on sector, stage and functional skills. Either party can send a connection request to the desired mentor/startup and once the request is accepted, the mentorship can be initiated. A startup can have multiple mentors and vice versa.
Q: -What if the mentor who is contacted does not respond?
Ans:-The portal is capable of sending multiple mentorship requests to multiple mentors at the same time. If none of the mentors is responding to the request within 15 working days, the request will be withdrawn and a new mentor will be suggested.
Q: -What will be the duration of the mentorship?
Ans:-The duration of mentorship will be mutual between the mentor and the startup for a fixed period of time.
Q:- Will the mentorship be virtual or in person?
Ans:-The portal allows both the formats for mentorship interaction and the same can be mutually decided between the parties. Virtual meetings can be automatically scheduled and tracked on the portal. Physical meeting can be scheduled using the portal and details can be entered manually after the conversation.
Q:- Is there any fee to be paid for mentorship?
Ans:- No, the mentorship offers provided on the platform are completely free of cost.
Q:- How to participate in the cohort based program?
Ans:- This program can invite applications from respective DPIIT-accredited startups and a pool of startups can be selected. Please check the group based open program to apply for the same.
